Juno

Movie: Juno
Like/Don't Like: Um...I liked it. (I wish I could record my voice here (I'm sure that there is a way to do this, I just haven't learned that magic yet) because it's all in my tone with this one, which is "not exactly convinced.")

I liked it because it won me over in the end. It really was a very charming and quirky story. The characters were all charming and quirky and the music was charming and quirky and I like charming and quirky. Who doesn't? But maybe it was too charming and quirky. Especially in the beginning. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of alien teen talk. Because I'm 80. I could practically visualize the script, and that's a problem for me. I don't like the words to get bigger than the film. But either it slowed down or I just got the hang of it, and about halfway through I warmed up to it. It was a little rough in parts and I had to tell Jason Bateman's character to back off because I was feeling uncomfortable (Who else talks to the movie? Anyone?) but it was sweet and funny.

I felt totally at home listening to their dialog after living with Standing Ov boob grabber. You know who I'm talking about. It was just like conversations we had, except ours weren't so much about pregnancy. Just other really personal subjects. But I'm glad you liked it. And Tim and I were yelling at Jason Bateman and telling him to stop being a creep too. We yell at movies. I think one of the reasons I like that movie so much is because it has such a good message about adoption and I have a good friend that is the best mom in the world that only has adoption as an option. Plus I'm pregnant, so everything seems more emotional. But I just thought it was very sweet, too.

Okay, I literally said the exact same thing about being able to see the words on the script. I've seen this movie more than once, and it does not hold up to mulitple viewings. All those things that kind of bug you the first time, like how everyone sounds exactly the same, start to become unbearable the second and third time around.
This movie was trying so hard to be distinct, and it got lost in all its effort.

I totally agree with this opinion of the movie. Only, I watched the movie with my mother, which was a different kind of weird. And Jason Bateman? I used to like him, now I think he needs therapy of some sort. Nevertheless, I bought the sound track and I love it. Good review.

I have not seen the movie, so I can't comment, but I totally talk to movies. Especially when they are being rediculous!
